ATTENTION BLUE CREW AND ILLINI PRIDE!!!
After months of planning, your Blue Crew chairs are thrilled to announce that
the 2009 Illini Women’s Basketball roadtrip is a go! On Sunday, February 15th,
the orange and blue will head to West Lafayette to take on the Purdue
Boilermakers, and we will be tagging along to cheer them onto a Big Ten
victory! You won’t want to miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity, so
read all the details below to ensure yourself a spot on the trip.
* If you’re already a member of Blue Crew this year, your first opportunity to
sign up for the trip will be at the women’s game vs. Indiana on Sunday. We
will also have sign ups for Blue Crew members from 6:30-7 PM on Tuesday,
the 27th, at 112 Greg Hall (this is immediately before the Illini Pride Spring
kickoff meeting).
* Signups for Illini Pride members not in Blue Crew will take place immediately
following the IP Spring Kickoff meeting at 112 Greg Hall.
* Other signup times may be announced if necessary. The signup deadline is
February 8th, and the roadtrip is limited to the first 50 students who sign up.
* When you sign up, you must fill out a waiver from the Illinois Athletic
Department promising good behavior on the trip. Absolutely NO alcohol will
be allowed on the trip, and Illini Pride or the U of I is not responsible if you
have a run in with the law while at the game.
* Once signed up, you will receive an e-mail a few days before the game with
travel times and details. For early planning purposes, expect the trip to last
from 9 AM to 4 PM. Tickets and transportation for the trip are paid for by Illini
Pride. The only cost to those going would be for any food or souvenirs.
Illinois and Purdue are both contenders in the Big Ten Conference this season,
and the Illini will be looking for revenge after the Boilermakers beat them in
last year’s Big Ten Tournament championship game on a buzzer beater. Throw
in the fact that the game will be televised LIVE across the nation on ESPN2, and
it’s obvious that the matchup will be an entertaining and physical one from
start to finish.
If you have any questions about the trip, feel free to contact Tim
(tditman2@illinois.edu) or Amy (daniels5@illinois.edu). Your Blue Crew chairs
are excited very excited for this opportunity, and we hope you’ll be able to join
us and show your loyalty to the orange and blue!
GO ILLINI!
