The number of people in our area at risk for hunger could fill Memorial Stadium twice.  Join the Eastern Illinois Foodbank and the Illini Hometown Heroes on October 18th to help provide relief to those in need. Bring a food donation to the October 18 game versus Indiana to help alleviate hunger in our area and kick-off the 2008 Food for Families Drive.  Look for the Foodbank trucks around the stadium from 12 – 7:30 on Saturday, October 18 to contribute and join the fight against hunger.  More information online at eifoodbank.org.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out on Friday for the blood drive!! We had a total of 62 donors, 45 of whom were first time donors! We met our goal of collecting 50 units of blood.  Way to go, Illini!! Since we had a totally awesome turn out, we’re hoping to host another drive this semester before winter break. Keep a look out for future dates!

Tshirts for all donors will be available in the next week or two — you’ll get an email when they are available to be picked up.  Thanks again- Go ILLINI!

 I Bleed Orange and Blue.. do you?

Hey Illini Pride!!  The upcoming 08-09 school year will make a special mark in Illini Pride history with its introduction of philanthropy to the organization.  Having boasted over 3,300 members last year, think of the difference we can make and all the good we can do!  Throughout the year we will have various philanthropic events that you can choose to take part in.. they’ll be a great way to meet new people and gain volunteer experience!  We’re really excited for this new addition to our organization and hope that you all are too!

Our first event of the school year is the “I Bleed Orange and Blue Blood Drive” with The American Red Cross Association.  The blood drive is on August 29th, the first Friday of classes. Sign ups for donor appointments will be held on quad day and after the fall kick off meeting.  There will be FREE TSHIRTS and SNACKS for donors!
