Hey Illini Pride!

There are only two weeks left to join college basketball’s most intimidating student section…the Orange KRUSH! To register for Orange Krush, or to correct and/or add pledges, click here.  You will need your NetID and password to log in to the registration website.

The Registration Website will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on September 15, 2010 - so sign up now!

With all of last year’s starters returning and a nationally-recognized recruiting class, this promises to be an exciting year!  In fact, ESPN Analyst Doug Gottlieb has picked the Illini to win the BIG TEN this year.  Don’t miss out on all the fun, excitement and tradition that is ILLINI BASKETBALL!

Also, there are a couple important changes to the website that you should be aware of:

-DO NOT COLLECT CASH or CHECKS FROM FLAT PLEDGE DONORS. Instead, ask for their name, address, and pledge amount.  The Orange Krush Foundation will send them a bill for their pledge at the end of basketball season.  Let us do the work for you!

-You may no longer order Break and Specialty game tickets through the website. After September 15, we will e-mail a Break and Specialty game ticket order form to all Krush members.  If you are interested in purchasing Break or Specialty game tickets, you must bring this order form AND payment to one of our collection dates (Place and Time: TBA).

Illini Pride and the Orange Krush are excited to announce the creation of the “Orange Krush Captains,” a small, select group of Orange Krush members that will lead their section’s cheers, develop new cheers, and serve in a leadership role in one of college basketball’s greatest student sections!  The position requires a substantial commitment of time and energy, but it also includes numerous perks: early entry into games, reserved seating in Krush, and a FREE Krush Captains t-shirt!

Any returning member of the Orange Krush is invited to apply! To get an application or to learn more about the position, e-mail Dan Gilpin, President of Orange Krush, at gilpin1@illinois.edu. All applications will be due by 11:59p.m. on September 24, 2010 and interviews will be held September 30-October 3.

Hey Ballers!

The #18/20 are back in action this week as they take on the Indiana State Sycamores! The Lady Illini will try to win their 23rd game of the season Wednesday night at 5:00pm at beautiful Eichelberger Field. To entice attendance, we will have candy and sunflower seeds to anyone who comes to the game. Also, this year the Baller Chairs have decided to give away quarter length baseball shirts to anyone who attends three games. This limited edition, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, will showcase your Baller pride. So come out Wednesday and support your nationally ranked Fighting Illini and enjoy some snacks, and earn your way to an epic t-shirt.

This is the weekend you’ve all been waiting for. This
Saturday is the only DUAL meet for the Men’s and
Women’s gymnastics teams! Both teams will flip off
against their rivals at 2 PM at Huff Hall. The #4
Men’s team have been waiting all season to knock
off #3 Michigan. The #13 Women’s Team will also
take on #18 Mizzou. This meet is also the GYM JAM
Promotion. Starting at 1:00, there will be free food
for the first 1,000 fans! The FLIP CREW will also
be there with the prize wheel, so everyone who
comes can win a prize. As always, there will be
candy for everyone to eat during the meet. If you
haven’t earned your authentic 2010 FLIP CREW
shirt yet, there are still some available. Anyone who
doesn’t already have one can just come to this meet
to get it. Also, the FLIP CREW will be giving away
great prizes for the 20 top attendees for the season.
It’s still very possible to get one of these prizes if
you come to GYM JAM 2010!!!!

Bus Location: 1st and Gregory
Dinner: Buffet Style

Ticket Distribution: Thursday, February 18– 7:00pm at Huff Hall before the wrestling meet against Purdue.

The only way permitted to and from semi formal is the buses. There will be a cash bar, tea/water/coffee are free, you must be 21 to purchase alcoholic drinks so bring your ID. No outside drinks may be brought in, they may force you to leave if you bring in outside drinks.

Ticket Distribution will be Thursday February 18 at 7pm at the wrestling meet against Purdue. There is a limited number of tickets and it is based on first come first serve. In general, tickets are gone within 15 minutes so get there early. Each IP member with their IP card will be given 2 tickets. If you cannot go, you may send your I-card and IP card with a friend, and they can pick up your 2 tickets. Each person can only pick up 4 tickets.

Important: They only accept CASH and there is NO ATM in the building.

Hey Illini!!

Illini Pride Spring Kick-Off is on its way! Get excited! It will be Tuesday, January 26 starting at 7 in 103 Mumford Hall. Spring Kick-Off will feature sports such as men’s and women’s tennis, softball and baseball, men’s and women’s gymnastics, and wrestling! We will be giving away many prizes along with a prize to the person who attended the most games last semester. The teams will be competing in games with some of those who attend! So come on out and meet the sports teams in action in the spring!
